Blipsy Meter

Blipsy Meter

Terms of sale

These are the terms for pre-ordering a Blipsy Meter from me, Blipsy. They cover what you’re buying, when it arrives, and what you can do if you change your mind or something goes wrong. Nothing in them takes away the rights the law gives you.

Last updated 1 October 2026

Who you’re buying from

You’re buying from me, Blipsy. I’m a sole trader: I make and sell Blipsy Meter myself, not through a company.

Blipsy Meter is made independently. It isn’t made, endorsed or sponsored by Anthropic or OpenAI.

What you’re buying

Blipsy Meter is a small display for your desk. It shows how much of your AI coding tools’ usage you’ve got through. It works with Claude Code and Codex, on a Mac.

In the box:

  • The meter, with its software already on it
  • A USB-C cable

The meter is 65 × 42 × 18.5 mm, with a 1.9 inch colour touch screen (320 × 170). You tap the screen to change what it shows, and hold it for about a second to turn the picture upside down. It connects to your Mac with USB-C, which also powers it. The case is off-white, with a black glass front. Each one is printed, assembled and tested by hand, in small batches.

To use it, you need a Mac running macOS 14 or later and the free Blipsy Meter app from this website. The app reads the usage logs that Claude Code and Codex write to your Mac, adds them up, and sends the totals to the meter down the cable.

The meter can only show what each tool writes in its logs. For Codex, it shows the percentage left of your 5-hour and weekly limits, as Codex reports them. Claude Code’s logs don’t include a limit, so for Claude Code it shows tokens used in the current 5-hour window and counts down to when it resets. If Anthropic or OpenAI change what their tools write, some figures may stop showing until the app is updated.

The pictures on this website are renders of the current case design. The finished meter may differ slightly from them.

The price

A Blipsy Meter costs £49, and that includes delivery. It’s the whole price: there’s nothing more to pay.

Where I deliver

I deliver to addresses in England, Scotland and Wales only. I can’t deliver to Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands or anywhere outside the UK.

The checkout can’t always stop you entering an address I can’t deliver to. If you do, I’ll cancel your order and refund you in full.

Delivery is by Royal Mail Tracked 48.

When it arrives

The first meters ship on 1 December 2026, to arrive by 8 December 2026. The first batch is 40 meters and I take no more than 40 pre-orders for it, so every meter ordered now ships on that date.

That date is a promise, not an estimate. If it’s going to slip, you’ll get an email with the new date and the offer of a refund. You can take the refund, or keep your order and wait. Either way, you can still cancel at any time until 14 days after your meter arrives.

If your meter hasn’t arrived by 8 December 2026 and you haven’t agreed to a later date, you also have the rights the law gives you when a delivery is late.

Your meter is my responsibility until it reaches you. If it’s lost or damaged on the way, I’ll send you another or give you a full refund, whichever you prefer.

If I can’t supply your meter at all, I’ll tell you as soon as I know and refund you in full straight away.

Ordering, paying and when the contract starts

  1. Press “Pre-order” on the Blipsy Meter page. It takes you to a checkout page run by Stripe, the payment company I use.
  2. Enter your email address, your name, your billing and delivery addresses and your card details. Check them before you pay. You can correct anything on that page, or close it to leave without ordering.
  3. Pressing the button to pay places your order, and you agree to pay.

Our contract starts when you complete the checkout. Stripe then shows you a confirmation, and I email you a confirmation of your order that repeats the main points of these terms within 2 working days.

I take the full £49 from your card when you order.

You can pay by debit or credit card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. Stripe handles your card details. I never see your full card number.

Ordering is in English only. I keep a record of your order. If I change this page later, your order stays on the terms that applied when you ordered.

Changing your mind

You can cancel for any reason, from ordering until 14 days after your meter arrives, for a full refund. The 14 days start the day after the meter reaches you, or someone you’ve asked to take it in.

How to cancel

Tell me that you’re cancelling. You can use the cancellation form below, or just write that you want to cancel. Either is fine. As long as you send it before the 14 days are up, you’re in time.

Sending it back

If it has already shipped, you have a further 14 days to send it back, counted from the day you tell me you’re cancelling. That includes a meter that’s still on its way when you cancel: send it back once it arrives.

You pay the postage to return it. A tracked service, or proof of posting, lets me refund you sooner.

Your refund

I refund the full £49, including the delivery:

  • if your meter hasn’t shipped, within 14 days of you telling me you’re cancelling;
  • if it has, within 14 days of getting it back, or of you sending me proof that you’ve posted it, whichever is sooner.

The refund goes back to the card you paid with. There’s no fee.

If you’ve handled the meter more than you’d need to see what it is and how it works, as you might in a shop, and that has lowered its value, I may take that loss off your refund.

Cancellation form

This is the form the law provides. You don’t have to use it. Copy it into an email or a letter, and fill in the gaps.

To Blipsy:

I/We [*] hereby give notice that I/We [*] cancel my/our [*] contract of sale of the following goods: Blipsy Meter

Ordered on [*] / received on [*]:

Name of consumer(s):

Address of consumer(s):

Signature of consumer(s) (only if this form is notified on paper):

[*] Delete as appropriate

If it’s faulty

I have a legal duty to sell you a meter that is of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If it’s faulty, your legal rights are separate from your right to cancel, and these terms don’t limit them. In short:

  • Within 30 days of delivery, you can reject a faulty meter and get a full refund.
  • After that, I’ll repair or replace it. If that doesn’t fix the problem, you can have your money back, or part of it if you’d rather keep the meter. After the first 6 months, a refund can be reduced to reflect the use you’ve had.
  • A fault that shows up within 6 months of delivery is taken to have been there from the start, unless I can show it wasn’t.

For a faulty meter, the return postage is paid for you. Email me about the fault and I’ll arrange the return.

If a fault in the meter injures someone or damages your property, you may also have rights under the Consumer Protection Act 1987.

For free advice about your rights, contact Citizens Advice in England and Wales, or Advice Direct Scotland in Scotland.

The Mac app

The Blipsy Meter app for Mac is free to download from this website. You can install it and use it on your own Macs, with or without a meter. It needs no account and makes no network requests.

It’s free for you to use on your own Macs. Please don’t sell it, change it, or pass it off as your own. If I publish its code under an open licence later, this page will say so.

Complaints

If something’s wrong, tell me. I’ll reply within 3 working days.

I’m not a member of any alternative dispute resolution scheme. If we can’t sort it out between us, Citizens Advice or Advice Direct Scotland can tell you your options, which include taking a claim to court.

The law that applies

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and you can bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland, you keep the protection of Scots law, and you can bring a claim in the Scottish courts.
